upon memory of your name
your laughter and hug brought up a fiery and kind flame
and as the rain splashed my window pane
sadness arrived with traveling stars to explain
our universe collided
at a time where our hearts were guided
by similar thrills in fashion bent wills
you were never too shy in complimenting a smile that marked your face
it was easy for you to grace every place as your own
humility and encouragement was your blood and bone
Remembering when you shared with us of your recent found cancer
i truly thought your eyes would witness me again be a funky dancer
i swore that we could hang together in person
that our friendship would expand before your pain would worsen
dearest, Anita!
thank you for being a benevolent greeter
and while i could not say good bye one last time,
the beam that returns will forever find; your sweet reverie lighting up my mind!
